Great Singing for Spring

Hey team...

I thought I would put this on here to spread some spring time smiles.

Here is a clip from Britains Got Talent. Shaheen is 12 years old and this kid has an amazing set of pipes; it almost makes me cry - he is that good! I couldn't embed the video, so I posted the link below (it picks up about the :58 mark).

Click here: Shaheen Jafargholi sings Michael Jackson

I am a big fan of a capella groups and came across this yesterday. Both songs by musical greats, are often duplicated but never replicated, although this guy does each song some justice; you can't help but dance and sing along. The performer's name is Nate Tao and I think he is fantastic. I hope you enjoy!

"Isn't She Lovely"

"I Want You Back" (he kills it all the way through the end...)

Lady Macbeth: Monster or Not??

Lady Macbeth is sometimes regarded as a monster, ruthlessly ambitious and fiendishly cruel. In an essay, analyze her character as it is revealed through her words, actions, and relationship with her husband. Use these actions and words to create her physical image as well

Will count for a term 5 test grade.

Directions:
For this assignment, you will be working in groups of 2 or three (or if you prefer, you can work by yourself).
You are going to create a written analysis of Lady Macbeth’s character using the text, but also creating an image based off of her thoughts, words, actions, analyzed in your essay.
If you are working with a partner or in a group of three: you must assign roles, evenly, and each person is responsible for part of the whole. Since I am letting you choose your groups for the essay, if one part is not complete, the group will suffer all together. You are not going to get an individual grade. Assign roles so that the work is even.

Roles:
Creating the introductory paragraph: :__________________________
Creating a thesis statement:__________________________
Finding evidence: :__________________________
Analyzing the evidence so that it supports the thesis: __________________________
Writing the conclusion:__________________________
Creating the work cited page: _____________________________
Typing/uploading to turnitin.com: :__________________________
You have to submit a written MLA formatted essay to turnitin. No hard copy. This MUST be submitted online for a grade.
You have to create a visual. What does she look like? Use your analysis to create this image. This is something that everyone in the group should do together.
Submit this paper with assigned roles along with your visual. You will be graded on the following rubric:

Visual Requirements: ______/50 points
____ (10)You must create an image of Lady Macbeth using pictures/symbols. You must have an entire body in action.

____(10)You must have THREE words (not necessarily adjectives) on your visual that explain something about her personality and relate to your thesis.

And We're Back...

Dear students,

I have decided to go back to the online syllabus; it it much easier for me and I am sure as the weather get nicer you will be more distracted. So, this is a win-win situation for all of us.

HOWEVER, you will not longer be able to publish comments. After the inappropriate use of this blog, I have revoke any and all on-line discussions. This is solely a place for assignments, not for posting. Please address any questions/comments directly to me via my email.

Thanks and let's enjoy the rest of the year.
