Syllabus: 5/18 to 5/22

Monday
In class:
If you were absent for the QUIZ on Friday: you must see me during a study hall or after school on MONDAY to receive credit. If this is a problem, you must speak to me before the close of school
Due: Response: 500-800 words MLA format (typed): Compare contrast Hawthorns, TMBV to the principles presented in Salem at this time and with at least 2 examples from the play. This will count as a quiz grade. Be sure to have a clear thesis, reasons and evidence. You need to apply the skills we learned on Monday to ALL of your writing.
In class, we will review Act 1 and journal: pick lines/monologues/soliloquy from one character. Explain its context and what these lines indicate about the character. Indicate figurative language/writing style and the significance. Will be collected and graded

Due Friday: IN CLASS, we will write/practice the SAT writing portion (FYI: I asked Mrs. O’Hara, who is teaching the SAT prep class at BLA, about the structure of your essay. She confirmed that you should stick to all of one example. Use all personal or use related pieces of literature. Otherwise, your paper will lack a clear focus)
