Due tomorrow
: Read, annotate handout about the techniques and find a newspaper or magazine article in which you analyze the advertisement using your knowledge about propaganda. What is the product, what technique is being used, which specific device, what do the images/characters mean, what are you asked to buy into, etc. Your response should be 500 – 600 words. You may borrow a magazine if you need one. This will count as a DOUBLE HW grade.
Due Thursday: Read Hawthorne’s “The Ministers Black Veil” in Literature book an answer ALL questions in Identifying Facts and Interpreting Meanings.
Due Friday: Quickie quiz on Background info/propaganda/The Crucible/ etc.

Tuesday
In class:
Due: Propaganda handout/response: double HW grade
In Groups: read, notate trial transcripts and character backgrounds from the SWT. Then, we will present the findings as a class. These will be posted.
